Benini painted Roses for more than 20 years. In the 70's, this symbol was rendered huge, full-frame and bright colors. His Superposes of this time were exhibited often with his large nudes. During the 80's, the roses were primarily one of the elements in a performance on a surrealistic or symbolic canvas. In 1987, after a trip out West and following a visit with Robert Monroe, author of Journeys Out of the Body and Far Journeys at his Mind Institute in Faber, Virginia, Benini left the rose and began exploring geometric shapes on canvas-starting with simple shapes and then continued this work for more than a decade, still with his signature technique and bright blended colors.
