Méïr Srebriansky (b.1976, France) is an abstract artist now base in New York. Greatly influenced by the French and American New Wave Cinema, Srebriansky created a series titled “Wasted Pictures” which was based on blurred film stills. The series marked Srebriansky’s transition towards abstraction. Moving beyond oil and acrylic, Srebriansky incorporates resin in his painting practice. Now, reoccurring shapes, often derived from his figurative drawings, colors, and both two and three dimensional forms guide his creative process driven by popular culture, science, and the depths of his own imagination.
Srebriansky has participated in residencies at Vermont Studio Center and Con Artist NYC. Recent solo shows include “Garden Party”, and “Méïr Srebriansky: Age of Resin” at 81 Leonard Gallery, New York.
