Based in New York, Danielle Frankenthal is an abstract artist whose work centers around different elements of light. Frankenthal creates light interactive artwork that changes with ambient lights and viewer positions. Her work has been featured in public collections and galleries locally and internationally. Past solo exhibitions include “Once in a Blue Moon” at Mizuma and Kips Gallery (2020), “Breath and Bullets” at Nicole Longnecker Gallery (2018), and “A War Room” at Columbus Museum of Art (2017). Her work is also part of the permanent collections of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and the McNay Art Museum.
“My formalistic concerns are mark and color over a strong albeit sometimes elusive substructure. I paint on transparent Acrylite® layers to mimic the way adults see and to call their attention to that seeing which is through their cultural programming and life experiences,” says Frankenthal.
