Feeling a shift in my thinking from people pleasing to making art that I like. This piece was inspired by a beautiful morning on Lake Charlevoix. Many layers capture the history in my shift from realism in nature to essence of nature.
Becoming an artist means at times learning to take risks. I am learning to feel what energizes me in my art and not try to make my art to please others. This piece represents my current stage of working towards the essence of an emotion inspired by nature.
