This hand detailed fine art giclee' is based off of the story of Anahita, a Persian Goddess who brings the abundant blessings or rain and fertility to the Earth. The original, which is now in a private collection was created with oil paint and pressed flowers on a wooden panel and coated in resin. This piece is part of a series of oil paintings based on mythical feminine beings or goddesses depicted in the form of gardens. There are seven total pieces in the series which is called "Gateway to the Mythic Gardens." Each piece also had an original piano composition that I created with it and was performed together in a concert/ exhibition in Mt. Shasta, California in 2021.
Influenced by the Art Nouveau movement and inspired by artists like Gustav Klimt and the Pre-Raphaelites, my style incorporates flowing lines, intricate details, and vibrant colors. I aspire to evoke wonder and appreciation for the Divine beauty surrounding us, inviting viewers into a realm of magic and delight.
I grew up on a large farm in Kansas and studied at Bethany college where I earned my B.F.A not only in Oil Painting but also in the area of Piano Performance and then went on to continue my studies in Chicago, earning my B.F.A in Fashion Design from The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago. Bringing different areas of interest together allows me the freedom to connect these creative disciplines and innovate with a broad range of knowledge and skill sets.
Using various mediums such as oil, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, and gold leaf, I focus on creating paintings that are not only visually beautiful, but also deeply emotional and expressive. I believe that art has the power to transport us to another dimension, to stir our hearts, and ignite our imaginations.
And so, I am honored to share my creations with the world in the hopes of bringing joy and beauty into the lives of you and all who experience them.
