Massimo Vignelli (1931–2014) was an Italian graphic designer based in New York City. Active from the 1960s, Vignelli was known for his Modernist approach, creating designs for book covers, furniture, and corporate logos. He is particularly recognized for his iconic design of the New York City subway map. Vignelli co-founded Vignelli Associates with his wife, Lella.
