First half of 18th Century

The ruyi shaped hanger at the top of the bird’s perch is a Chinese art motif. Likewise the border along the rim of the plates is a frequent design on Chinese imari from the 18th century and on Kangxi period porcelains.

Gift of Dan McLawhorn, Class of 1970, and Robert J. Hazelgrove, Jr.
