Gift of Dan McLawhorn '70 and Robert J. Hazelgrove, Jr.

While many larger vases, jars, and plates with fine painting were made for export to the Middle East, the more amateur painting and glaze decoration of this vase together with small size indicate it was probably made for the domestic market as a vase meant for a family altar or shrine.
