Public latrines would have been a relatively new and uncommon public amenity in Paris at the time this caricature was published. The caption on this caricature, "Ah, ah, it's pressing!" indicates the man's urgent need to use the latrine. Surrounding the latrine are various satirical fliers with references to bodily functions.
