  • Artist: Trenton Doyle Hancock (American, b. 1974)

African American sketch artist, printmaker, and painter. Hancock earned his BFA from Texas A&M University, Commerce and MFA. from Tyler School of Art at Temple University. He is influenced by his Baptist background, Max Ernst, Hieronymus Bosch, and William Blake. He completed a residency at Singapore Tyler Print Institute in 2010 where he learned a series of new techniques including mixed media and how to make handmade paper. Hancock has been featured in exhibitions in New York, Baltimore, Cleveland, and Shanghai.
