  • Artist: Yoshida Toshi (Japanese, 1911-1995)

Toshi Yoshida was born in Tokyo to a family of artists. His father taught him art and Yoshida became interested in landscapes and animals. Yoshida's art is largely inspired by his travels which led him as far as Antarctica. His style is distinct in its bold colors schemes and composition. Although Yoshida briefly experimented with abstract painting, he is known for his woodblock prints which have received great acclaim and can be found in prestigious museums around the world.
