Artist: Theo Wujcik (American, 1936-2014)
Theo Wujcik (1936 – 2014) was an American artist who primarily worked in the Tampa Bay area. He is most known for his meticulous silver print portraits and fragmented paintings. His body of work includes portraits of leading artists from the 1970s. A chain-link fence motif appeared across various mediums in his work, serving as a structural device to convey storylines, fragments of memories, and explore themes related to art historical figures. For over thirty years, Wujcik taught drawing, painting, and printmaking at the University of South Florida. His work has been exhibited across the United States.
