Romanian-American illustrator, cartoonist, photographer, and sculptor. Internationally known for visually defining the postwar age through graphic art. Illustrated for The New Yorker as a cartoonist and cover artist while also exhibiting internationally. Illustrations chronicle the modern American psyche and are visually imaginative. Made no distinction between high and low art and resisted conventional critical categories.
