  • Artist: Robert Johnson (American, 1944-2021)

Robert Johnson was an American painter based in Western North Carolina. He was known for his intricate paintings that represent diverse flora and fauna. Johnson received a B.S. from the University of Louisville, KY and MFA from Mills College, CA. In addition, he had been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the National Endowment For the Arts the Arts’ Southern Arts Federation. His works have been exhibited at venues such as, the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Morris Museum of Art, and the Chrysler Art Museum.
