Robert Doisneau (1912–1994) was a French engraver, printmaker, and photographer. He studied engraving and lithography at the Estienne School in Paris to pursue label and packaging design. After working in advertising, he became an independent photographer, capturing everyday moments in Paris, often illuminated by natural light. His practice shifted during World War II, focusing more on portraiture.
