Artist: Richard Ziemann (American, b. 1932)
Richard Ziemann (born 1932) is an American etcher-engraver whose primary source of inspiration is nature, particularly landscapes with changing light, seasons, and movement. He specializes in landscape engravings of America. Ziemann taught at Yale, his alma mater, as well as Lehman College and Hunter College, CUNY, where he is Professor Emeritus. His works are part of collections in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Yale University Art Gallery, among others.
