Richard "Dick" Swanson was an American photographer know for his black-and-white photographs created in Michigan, South Florida, and North Carolina. Active from the 1940s to the 1990s, he worked in the social documentary tradition and street photography. In addition to being an award-winning photographer, he was also a practicing dentist for most of his life. His archive is held at the University of Michigan.
