  • Artist: Reuben Tam (American, 1916-1991)

Hawaii born landscape painter, educator, poet and graphic artist. Received his B.A. from the University of Hawaii. Studied at the California School of Fine Art and at Columbia University alongside Meyer Schapiro. Also attended the New School of Social Research. Taught at the Brooklyn Museum Art School. Summered multiple times at Monhegan Island, Maine. Works reside in the collections of numerous institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
