Raoul Dufy was a French painter born in Le Havre, France in 1877 and died in Forcalquier in 1953. He is known for his brightly coloured and highly decorative scenes of luxury, pleasure, or recreation (horse races, regattas, parades, and concerts). He is associated with the Fauvist movement. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He created artwork in painting, printmaking, ceramics, and tapestries.
