  • Artist: Paul Resika (American, b. 1928)

American painter. Born in New York City and studied with Sol Wilson and Hans Hofmann in 1940's. Resika taught at the University of Oregon, Dartmouth College, University of Pennsylvania and many other schools. He is best known for his paintings which are of simple composition and complex coloring, both abstract and realistic. Resika won the Louis Comfort Tiffany Grant, a Childe Hassam award and a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. His works are currently in numerous museum collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Museum of American Art.
