Patrick Dougherty (American, b. 1945) was born in Oklahoma and raised in North Carolina. He received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina and an M.A. from the University of Iowa. Dougherty is best known for his site-specific environmental works, using tree branches and saplings to build large-scale installations, which have been featured around the globe and have recieved many awards.
