Rasmussen is interested in the physical space and atmospheric presence of people and landscapes, and cites. He served in Vietnam and later was a curator of the Art Center Gallery at the University of Wisconsin before becoming a professor of printmaking and drawing. His primary mediums are painting and lithographs.
