Artist: John McIver (American, b. 1931)
American painter and mixed media artist. He graduated from Trinity College and returned to his home in Jacksonville, where he taught himself how to paint with watercolor and later taught others at the Jacksonville Art Museum. Mclver primarily used watercolor in his works until he incorporated mixed media materials into his small-scale paintings. He is inspired by works of John Pike, a watercolorist and an illustrator. His works shifted from being representative to abstract, being expressionistic in collage using elements of light, color, and texture.
