Artist: Jeanloup Sieff (French, 1933-2000)
French photographer. Distinguished for his black and white images of nude portraiture and landscapes. His use of distorted camera angles and spatial perception juxtaposed with an exploration of shadows created powerful prints. Sieff studied at d’Ecole Vaugirard in Paris as well as d’Ecole Superieure in Vevey, Switzerland, and developed a style heavily influenced by filmmakers of the 1950s.
