Artist: Jacob Landau (American, 1917-2001)
American printmaker, illustrator, and painter. Landau was a passionate humanist and his works explored themes of human existence and morality. His works were greatly influenced by the Great Depression, having grown up during it, and the Holocaust. Landau was a professor at Pratt Institute and exhibited both internationally and nationally at museums such as the MoMa (NYC), Hirshhorn Museum. He has received several fellowships including the Guggenheim Fellowship and the Tamarind Fellowship.
