German painter, designer, and draftsman. Mecksepper studied at the State Academy for Visual Arts in Stuttgart (1952) and continued schooling at the College for Visual Arts in Berlin (1957-1959). His work depicts objects arranged minimalistically and abstractly, with technical precision, usually portraying gears and springs which allude to his interest in technology. His paintings are usually devoid of color, if not simply subdued.
