Artist: Douglas Mazonowicz (British, 1920-2001)
Douglas Mazonowicz (English, 1920-2001) was born in Swindon, Wiltshire, England, and graduated from the Swindon College of Art in 1939. He is best known for his screenprints inspired by prehistoric cave art from Spain, France, North Africa, and North America. He taught at the Farnham College of Art in the UK, worked as a researcher at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and founded the Gallery of Prehistoric Paintings in New York. Mazonowicz published multiple books on prehistoric art and exhibited with the Smithsonian, the British Arts Council, and more.
