Artist: Cort Savage (American, b. 1965)
American sculptor. Received BA in Fine Arts from Indiana University and MFA in Sculpture from Syracuse University. Instrumental in establishing the Visual Art Center on the campus of Davidson College, where he has taught sculpture and drawing for over twenty years. Sculptures are characterized by kinetics and use of rubber-bands. Work has been exhibited throughout the United States, including at the Mint Museum of Art, Cameron Museum of Art, and the New Orleans Center for Contemporary Art. Has received numerous grants and fellowships, including from the North Carolina Arts Council, the Southern Arts Federation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
