Case Jernigan was born in Columbiam SC. He is an Italy-based, American video-artist and illustrator whose work focuses on vulnerability, artistic integrity, embarrassment, sickness, and healing. Jernigan earned a BA in painting from William & Mary in 2008, his MFA from New York Studio School in 2012, and studied printmaking at Il Bisonte, Firenze. His short films have been showcased and awarded at major festivals including Slamdance, Hot Docs, Sweaty Eyeballs, and Salute Your Shorts, and have received Vimeo Staff Picks honors five times. Jernigan is a Screen Australia grantee and has participated in distinguished artist residencies such as the Sharpe-Walentas Program, Center for Book Arts, and Saltonstall Foundation. His work has exhibited internationally in the United States, England, and Italy, and he has undertaken commissions for prominent clients like The New York Times, The Guardian, Pop-Up Magazine, Adidas, Nike, and world-class athletes including Venus Williams and Ronaldinho.
