  • Artist: Arthur Polonsky (American, b. 1925)

Founder of the Boston Expressionist movement, Polonsky combines elements of symbolism and expressionism. His works reference poets Rilke and Rimbaud. His painterly works are unique in their richness in light and color while they also exhibit traditional figurative techniques. Polonsky was a part of the artist group affiliated with the Boston Museum School in the 1940’s.
