  • Artist: André Kertész (Hungarian, 1894-1985)

Hungarian photographer. First began photographing while working as a clerk at the Budapest stock exchange in 1912. From 1925 he freelanced in Paris before moving to NYC in 1936 to photograph for magazines such as House and Garden of architecture and interiors. When he retired at age sixty-eight then he was able to return to his amateur days of photographing whatever it is his heart desired.
