Born in Semarang, Indonesia, in 19941, Adrian Van Suchtelen then moved to the Netherlands in 1950. Following the Netherlands, he immigrated to the United States in 1957, where he eventually settled in Los Angeles, California. He attended El Camino College and Otis Art Institute. He then moved to Utah, where he spent thirty-seven years as a professor of drawing at Utah State University. He is best known for his painting and printmaking. His style is allegorical, intrigued by the metaphysical and metaphorical.
