Cloud forms and images from the Hubble telescope inspire me . . . I can get lost in them. From the Illumination series, The Way Home is about peering into the unknown, and taking a walk into it to find what's deeper inside. I needed to know that I could find my way home, and I found home is always where I am.
My paintings are an exploration into my emotional and spiritual ties with the Creative in the Universe. Asking questions, listening for the answers, finding a way to put those answers into action, and what happens when I do. They are about the paths we all take in seeking to find our way.
Expressing the ephemeral in a more visual way reflects the emotions that flow through my hands to the canvas. I can get the brushes and paint to mirror unseen thought as opposed to the metal showing literal movement. I respond to the nebulous, the intuitive as it flows through me. Painting allows me to escape the physical.
