The photograph enclosed herein is a copy of an original held in the Area Research Center collection, Murphy Library. The original is one of three held here; all here taken by Imogen Cunningham in 1917, and all are of Katherine Martindale, who was teaching at the University of Washington Seattle at the time. Martindale would have been about twenty-seven at the time this portrait was taken. Cunningham signed herself "Imogen Cunningham Partridge" on all three Martindale portraits. She operated a studio in Seattle at the time. Commercial use of this photograph is restricted and requires written permission of the Area Research Center.
