Lucille Magdalen Kay

Lucille was a La Crosse resident that took art classes at UW-La Crosse under the Senior Citizen's Program (one course per semester). She was a 1929 graduate of the College of St. Teresa, Winona, Minnesota. Lucille was physically disabled.
Lucille enrolled in art classes at 68 years old at UW-La Crosse in September, 1975. Except for two semesters she was continuously enrolled in art studios from 1975 through May 1985 (78 years old). She concentrated on Painting classes although she did take two semesters of Print-making and one semester of Water Color painting during her studies at UW-La Crosse.
Lucille was beloved by the art students and faculty. She inspired the art students, and they inspired her. She was involved in many art activities and events including exhibitions. Lucille took many Art Field Trips with art students and faculty to gallery tours in Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and seven art trips to New York City.
The Estate of Lucille M. Kay donated this painting to the UW-La Crosse Art Department
