In response to the election of Trump’s administration, We the Future, a project of Amplifier Foundation, worked with youth leaders and artists to create art rich in counter-narratives to Trump’s racist & xenophobic agenda. I worked with Amanda Gorman to illustrate the power of the poet to speak truth to power and call for collective resistance when elected leaders fail us.
Amanda Gorman is a published author, the first ever Youth Poet Laureate, and the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history. Her first poetry book, “The One for Whom Food Is Not Enough,” was published in 2015 by Penmanship Books. She has written for the New York Times and has three books forthcoming with Penguin Random House.
