Stop FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), 2012
Poster Print
This work was on loan for the exhibition "Women's Rights Are Human Rights: International Posters on Gender-Based Inequality, Violence, and Discrimination" at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art from January 17 - May 17, 2025
Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a term that encompasses all procedures involving partial or total removal of the external female genitalia. The practice of FGM is rooted in a mixture of social, cultural, and religious factors and is, therefore, a very complex and controversial issue. Every year, 2 million girls suffer the pain of genital mutilation, a clear violation of their human rights. No government should continue to ignore this crime.
