As individuals, organizations, communities, or people, indigenous women continually prove their strength in the face of threat and adversity. Indigenous women have a relationship with the land, living differently than men despite the collective work shared between women and men. Women preserve culture and tradition and have fought for generations to defend their land. Women struggle on three levels: for their land, against discrimination, and acknowledging their rights.
