Born in Taiwan and based in New York City, artist Fay Ku illustrates an uncanny world in which enigmatic actions are carried out in pursuit of unarticulated psychological phenomena. Her work has been exhibited across the United States and Asia, with onewoman shows at the New Britain Museum of American Art, CT; The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu, HI; and the Snite Museum of Art, IN. Item description: A painting of a person viewed from the left, standing aggressively in a half-crouch with their arms retracted above their chest. They are clad in tiny black feathers which end at their elbows and knees. A large vulture skull adorns their head, their growling features peaking through. The only background detail is a fluffy shroud of gold along the person's length.
