Hand-dyed indigo muslin, embroidery

Betsy Ross got the Blues reimagines Old Glory in shades of indigo with an unfinished field of stars. Indigo dye has a longstanding relationship to labor as a prized global commodity, a lesser known part of America's plantation economy, and its use in the creation of denim - the fabric of the working class.
