Las Vegas-based painter Tim Bavington translates popular songs into visual explorations of color and form. He has exhibited internationally and in the U.S. His sculpture Pipe Dream (2012), an interpretation of Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, is on permanent display at the Smith Center. Bavington’s work has been collected by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Denver Art Museum in Colorado, the Istanbul Modern in Turkey, and numerous other institutions. UNLV MFA 1999.
