Artist Statement:
Sound artist, Fred Bell, pursues quiet locations in forest and deserts, recording the natural soundscape of the land. His recordings feature the vocalizations of animals (biophony) and the sounds of wind and water (geophony), all the while, hopefully avoiding the sounds of our mechanized society (anthropophony). To conserve the land is to conserve the sound of the land.
