We believe everyone deserves access to art that challenges our understanding of the present and inspires us to create a future that makes space for us all.
MessageOriginally from Pensacola, Florida, Davis began to use desert landscapes in his work after he arrived in Las Vegas to study art at UNLV. In 2006 he graduated with an MFA. For his 2014 exhibition, Jettison, he photographed women walking across the sand dressed as air stewardesses. Flight has been a recurring theme throughout his career. “Every Florida kid feels a connection with, or an imaginative bond to, Cape Canaveral,” he said when Jarret Keene of Las Vegas Seven spoke to him in 2011. Exhibitions of his three-dimensional work have featured large, toylike sculptures of ‘60s-style aliens and spaceships.
