Artist: Keri Miki-Lani Schroeder
Keri Miki-Lani Schroeder was born and raised in Las Vegas. She started creating art and zines while attending the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, earned a BA in Art History from UNLV, and MFA in Book Art and Creative Writing from Mills College. Schroeder worked as a studio assistant at Flying Fish Press, and as an edition bookbinder at BookLab II. She is currently based in San Antonio, Texas, where she produces limited-edition artist’s books under the imprint of Coyote Bones Press, and teaches at various institutions. Her research-based book works incorporate sculptural book structures and found objects, combining traditional and contemporary bookbinding and printing techniques. Schroeder’s books are held in prominent permanent collections including UC Berkeley, Bainbridge Island Art Museum, UCLA, Stanford, RISD, and The British Library.
