We believe everyone deserves access to art that challenges our understanding of the present and inspires us to create a future that makes space for us all.
MessageEun Young Choi was born in Seoul, South Korea. In 2001 she graduated with an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. “As a daughter of a diplomat,” she writes, “I lived and traveled to many parts of the world. Moving to different countries and cultures every two or three years required that I quickly adjust to a new environment and still maintain a sense of identity and balance. I cannot say that living in different cultures has had a direct influence in my work, but the idea of dislocation and transformation is always present in one form or another.” Her work has been exhibited internationally at venues in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. A solo exhibition, Scratch & Sniff, took place at Las Vegas' Dust Gallery in 2005.
