We believe everyone deserves access to art that challenges our understanding of the present and inspires us to create a future that makes space for us all.
MessageBorn in Austin, Texas, Fairman graduated from UNLV with an MFA in 2001. His sculptures are constructed from store-bought domestic objects such as kitchen bowls, lampshades, and cups. “I’m a formalist. I have rigorous ideas about how to design things. I just don't want to use traditional materials,” he told the Las Vegas Weekly in 2005. "I don't see myself so much as a sculptor but more as an editor, editing out information I don't want.” Fairman’s work has been exhibited in California and Oregon as well as Las Vegas. He currently teaches Fine Art at the College of Southern Nevada.
