I am sending love to the eight-year-old boy that I was, specifically during that time when I crossed the border as an
undocumented child without my parents when I was escaping the civil war in El Salvador. It was a two-and-a-half-month
trip from El Salvador to the United States by land. Sometimes on foot. Sometimes by car. Sometimes by train. They went
from Coyote to Coyote until I reached the Tijuana border ... Eight-year-old boy, be strong, I believe in you, this is the
right way. Also, I want to thank my spirit animals who accompanied me during this trip.
