Serving as an academic environment for the critical analysis of visual art in southern New Mexico.
MessagePaula Wilson, based in Carrizozo, NM, is an artist whose work layers Western art historical iconography, ancient symbolic tropes, personal references to her life and the New Mexico landscape, Greek mythology, and decorative styles from the history of domestic arts. Often using self-portraiture, Wilson constructs powerful narratives of identity through performance, video, installation, painting, and sculpture.
