Treatment: 2025 Visual Arts Alumni Exhibition

Treatment is the 2025 Juried Alum Exhibition featuring Visual Arts alums. The juror, Rachel Watson (herself an alum) invited artists to explore the layered meanings of intervention, care, and transformation—both in subject and in medium. The term spans a wide spectrum: from medical and psychological care to environmental restoration, to the complex systems of treatment embedded in social, political, and personal experience. Just as significantly, it includes the way artists physically treat their materials—through manipulation, process, degradation, preservation, or innovation. Watson encouraged submissions that reflect on what it means to be treated, to treat others, or to treat matter itself. Artists may explore treatment as healing or harm, as control or care, as transformation or erasure. Works may be personal or conceptual, representational or abstract, and may interrogate how meaning is shaped through both content and material approach.
