My grandmother made beautiful appliqué quilts. When I made my first quilt, I was fascinated with the execution of joining small pieces of fabric together to create a new composition of color, light and movement. Seeing a piece of art for the first time can be a treat, as it can be enjoyed for its beauty or perhaps the thoughts it provokes.
With my love of painting and textiles, I have combined my two favorite mediums in quilt making. Nature is my go-to subject matter, and whether landscape or floral, I hope to evoke the beauty of the world around us.
